Already posted a response but it's fallen into a black hole somewhere.
My wife has throw over saddle bags (under seat actually)on her Savage. The right side started rubbing against the tire so I bought a $1.99 shelf "L" bracket, cut it to size and mounted it on the indicator bracket screw. Sets the bag off perfectly to match the other side which is backed off by the belt guard.
The bracket hardly shows behind the bag so I figure the $100 I saved can be used on more visible accessories.
